Rangers help baby sea turtles on Con Dao
Rangers on Vietnam's Con Dao islands keep turtle eggs safe. A July 2026 report said more than 10,000 babies went to the sea.
Con Dao is a group of islands in the south of Vietnam. From April to November, mother sea turtles come to its beaches. At night, each mother digs a nest and lays her eggs.
Park rangers watch the beaches all night. They use red lights, because red light does not bother turtles. Rangers measure the mother and give her a tag. Then they carefully move her eggs to safe nests. There, the eggs are safer from the sea and hungry animals.
