On October 25, 2026, the European Union shared a picture from space. One of the Sentinel-2 satellites took it on August 7. It shows the Cordillera Blanca, a mountain range in Peru.
Peru is near the equator, where many places are warm. But these mountains are very high, so ice covers their tops. The range has the biggest group of tropical glaciers in the world. A glacier is a huge mass of ice that moves very slowly. Peru's highest mountain, Huascaran, is in this range. It is 6,768 meters tall.
