New Zealand's Department of Conservation shared some news on October 13, 2026. Drones now help its team find the nests of a rare bird. The bird is called the bittern. At that time, bitterns were starting to build nests and lay eggs.
Bitterns are shy birds, and they live in wetlands. Their brown, striped feathers help them hide in tall plants. A bittern often stands still with its beak pointing up. So bitterns are very hard to find.
